Blinders of War
“Blinders of War” speaks to the heart of our inspirational message at War Horses Network. As you will hear over and over again, most horses are not born to go to war. Crashing metal, shouting soldiers and booming cannon are not elements of a natural environment for them. We hope that our images showcase the intelligence, serenity, confidence and focus that is required for a horse to join the battle.
This gorgeous horse, (if I can find his name, I’ll upload it later, begins with H) stood off to the side of a very large reenactment of a Civil War battle and was harnessed to a lovely cart. The driver (hope to add his name here in the future as well) appeared to take the events in stride and as you can see from the blurred images of the soldiers marching past in the background, the was really quite a spectator to the entire event. And that is actually what often happened in the real events of war.
Not every horse charged into the frenzied excitement, so many were witnesses to our history, their history. We hope you have enjoyed this blurb about “Blinders of War”! If you are so inclined, please visit our gift shop for options on how you can bring this shot into your home, office, gift giving projects and time management efforts!
